For most Huntley families, a place here is something they’ve worked hard to provide. But we’d love to open the door to a child who couldn’t otherwise have that chance — someone who would thrive here, given it.
That’s why we’re building a true hardship scholarship: a full day scholarship for one local child to attend Huntley through Years 7 and 8 — the two senior years, and two of the most important in a child’s schooling. It’s funded entirely by donations to the scholarship fund, and will be awarded once enough has been raised.

Each year, local community organisations will be invited to nominate a child they believe would benefit from a Huntley education but could not otherwise access one. The scholarship will be awarded in a given year only when both a suitable child has been nominated and enough has been raised to fund a full scholarship. Until then, the fund keeps growing towards the following year.

For the child who receives it, a Huntley scholarship means more than a place at school — small classes, the chance to try things that might not otherwise be within reach, and an education built on the values that have shaped Huntley students since 1896: good manners, humility and respect for others.
It covers the full cost of a Huntley day-school education through Years 7 and 8.
We would rather wait for the right year, and the right child, than offer something less than a full scholarship.
We’d encourage anyone wanting to support a scholarship to give towards the hardship scholarship. If you’d like to, you can also make it a Legacy Scholarship — carrying your name, or the name of someone you wish to honour, into Huntley’s future. A family, a year group or a group of Old Boys and Girls can do this together.
We’ll always welcome other ideas for legacy scholarships, but we believe this one could make a real difference in a child’s life.
