As the oldest preparatory boarding school in New Zealand, Huntley has a proud history of providing a caring and happy environment for our students.
Creating a boarding house environment that caters to the differing needs of boys and girls is Huntley’s final step in becoming a truly co-educational school.
The 90 Sleeps Project will see the refurbishment of the boarding house to provide a more natural separation of the boys’ and girls’ zones. A new foyer will provide a neutral entry point to the building, so girls don’t have to come in through their toilets or the boys through a narrow side building entry. A new girls’ toilet and shower block are also part of the development, along with a sick bay and matron’s office.
