Swimming Sports

What a wonderful Family Day the Swimming Sports turned out to be. It was fantastic seeing parents meeting each other and finding out who their sons friends were. The swimming itself was great and the boys were extremely well behaved and positive. It was lovely to see all boys regardless of ability putting in a big effort. As always the highlight of the day was the house relays. These certainly give parents an insight into the pride every boy has in their squad. I will admit it was most distressing to see the parents thrash the staff this year! Obviously a few have been training pretty hard and it doesn’t look good for us with Torpedo Tobin (Mr Tobin) with Patrick in Year 5 he will be available for a number of years.

Special mention must be made of Chey Holdaway who broke two records this Swimming Sports. The 80m Freestyle in 53.50sec nearly 2 seconds faster than the old record held by Chikara Taylor. The 40m Backstroke in a time of 29.09 the old record being 29.81 which was made by Chikara Taylor in 2002.
